50 free tools for writers
Free content writing tools
Tools for every step of a blog post, guide, product or service page: plan it from the search results, your keywords and Search Console data, schedule it and work out what it costs, write the title, meta description, internal links and tables, count the words, keep to your style guide and clean up the draft, check claims, reviews, copied pages, links, meta tags and dates before it goes live, then add an author bio and share it as social posts, a press release or a case study. Every tool works on the text, file or export you give it, in your browser. None of them write with AI or send your words to one.

Built on Google's own guidance
Where a tool checks something Google writes about, such as title links, meta descriptions, link text, duplicate pages, product reviews or helpful, people-first content, the rule comes from Google Search Central or Search Console Help. The claims checks follow ASCI's code and India's guidelines on misleading advertisements. Where a score, a limit or a suggestion is our own, the tool says "our checklist", "our measure" or "our suggestion".
What these tools do not do
They do not write your content, and we never send your text to ChatGPT, Gemini or any other AI. They do not fetch other websites or sign in to Search Console: you paste your text or open an export you downloaded, and it is read in your browser. They cannot tell you whether a page will rank, and they are not plagiarism checkers or AI detectors.
Frequently asked questions
Do these tools use AI to write?
No. They work with clear rules, templates and maths on the text you give them. The Blog to Social Posts tool, for example, picks sentences from your own article; it does not write new ones. Your text is not sent to any AI service.
Which tool should I start with?
If you are planning a new piece, start with the Content Brief Builder. If your site already has articles, open your Search Console export in the Search Console Opportunity Finder and the Content Refresh Planner to see what to write or update first. Before you publish, run the draft through the Content Draft Optimizer and the AI Draft Clean-up Checker.
Does Google mind content written with AI?
Google says it rewards helpful, reliable content however it is made, and that using automation, AI included, mainly to manipulate search rankings breaks its spam policies. The AI Draft Clean-up Checker helps you find the parts of an AI-assisted draft that still need a person's work.
Are the scores in these tools Google's?
No. The scores are our own checklists, built from Google's guidance, to show what to fix first. A good score here does not mean a page will rank or be shown in a particular way.
Are these tools free?
Yes. Every tool on this page is free, with no sign-up and no limit on how often you use it. They are made by DigitalSnot, a digital marketing agency in India, alongside our free SEO, Google Ads and YouTube tools.
