About the Text Case Converter and Cleaner
Paste a heading, caption, product list or page. Change it to sentence case, title case, UPPER CASE, lower case or Capitalise Each Word, while the names and acronyms you list, such as Google, Pune or GST, keep their spelling. You can also remove double spaces, non-breaking spaces, invisible characters, emoji, bullets, empty lines and duplicate lines, join broken lines, sort lines and change quotes and dashes. Hindi text is never changed except for its spacing. It runs in your browser, and your text is not uploaded.
How it works
-
01
Paste your text, or press Try an example to see a WhatsApp message typed in capitals.
-
02
Pick a case, add the names and acronyms to keep, and tick the clean-up you want. The result updates as you type.
-
03
Read what changed, then copy the result or download it as a text file.
How the cases work
Sentence case gives a capital letter to the first word of each sentence and to "I", and keeps the names and acronyms you list. Title case gives every word a capital except short words such as "a", "and", "of" and "to". That list is our rule, because style guides differ, so the tool shows it. Capitalise Each Word gives every word a capital. A line typed mostly in capitals is treated as shouting, so only acronyms from our list and your own list stay in capitals.
Capitals in ads and listings
Google Ads' capitalisation policy does not allow capitals that are not used correctly or for their intended purpose. Merchant Center asks you to avoid all caps in product titles, though capitals are fine for abbreviations, and its rules for promotions give "FREE MUG WITH PURCHASE" as an example of excessive capitalisation. Sentence case with your acronyms kept is a safe start, and Google's own review has the final say.
What this tool cannot do
It follows rules, not meaning, so it cannot tell that "kothrud" is a place or "may" a month unless you add them to the keep list. It does not fix spelling or grammar and does not write new words. Devanagari has no capital letters, so Hindi text only gets its spacing and invisible characters tidied. Read the result before you publish it.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between sentence case and title case?
Sentence case writes a heading like a normal sentence: "Teeth whitening in Kothrud, Pune". Title case gives most words a capital: "Teeth Whitening in Kothrud, Pune". Both are fine. Pick one and use it the same way across your site, ads and posts.
Will it change my Hindi text?
No. Devanagari has no capital letters, so changing the case leaves Hindi words as they are. The clean-up options can still fix the spaces around them, remove invisible characters and change quote marks. Zero-width joiners, which Hindi spelling and emoji need, are never removed. Hinglish typed in English letters is changed like English.
How do I keep brand names like WhatsApp or GST?
Type them in the keep box, separated by commas, and they keep exactly that spelling in sentence case, title case and capitalise each word. Names of more than one word, such as "Smile Studio Dental", work too. With the first tick on, words already written like WhatsApp or GST also keep their spelling, unless the whole line is in capitals.
What are invisible characters and why remove them?
Text copied from websites, PDFs and chat apps can carry characters you cannot see, such as zero-width spaces, soft hyphens and non-breaking spaces. They can make text behave oddly when you search, count or paste it. The tool counts them and removes them. Zero-width joiners stay because Hindi spelling and emoji use them.
Should I write ads in capital letters?
Google Ads' capitalisation policy does not allow capitals that are not used correctly or for their intended purpose, and Merchant Center asks you to avoid all caps in product titles, though abbreviations such as LED are fine. Turn a line in capitals into sentence case here and keep your acronyms, then check the ad with our Google Ads Policy Checker.
