About the Carousel Post Text Builder
Paste your article and add a hook line, your brand and a call to action. The tool makes a cover slide, one point per slide from the article's headings, list items or key sentences, and a closing slide, each with alt text. Edit, reorder, add and remove slides, then copy an Instagram caption and LinkedIn post text with live counts against each platform's limit. It does not write new sentences or make images: it picks and arranges your words, and you design the slides in your own app. It runs in your browser.
How it works
-
01
Paste the article (plain text, Markdown or the HTML from your editor), then add a hook line for the cover, your brand, a call to action and the article's address. Or try the example.
-
02
Choose where the points come from (headings, list items or key sentences) and how many point slides you want. Edit each slide's headline, text and alt text, and move, add or remove slides.
-
03
Copy all the slides and captions, download a CSV with one row per slide, or print a sheet. Put the text on your slides in your design app and post them.
How the slides are made
With headings, each section becomes a slide: its heading is the headline and its best sentence, by our measure, is the text. Our measure prefers sentences that share words with the heading, read on their own and are 5 to 35 words long. Without headings, list items or the article's key sentences become the points. The cover uses your hook line and the closing slide your call to action. Only short lines such as "Swipe" come from the tool; every other word is yours, unchanged.
The limits used
Instagram Help says you can share up to 20 photos and videos in one post, and the orientation you choose applies to all of them. Captions can have up to 2,200 characters (Meta's developer documentation) and a post up to 5 hashtags (Instagram Help). A LinkedIn document can be a PDF, PPT, PPTX, DOC or DOCX of up to 100 MB and 300 pages, and LinkedIn posts up to 3,000 characters (LinkedIn Help). Words per slide are our suggestion, not a platform rule.
What this tool cannot do
It does not write, rewrite or summarise with AI, so a slide can read stiffly and needs a human edit. It makes no images, fonts or designs: it gives you the words for each slide. It cannot post for you or see how the apps will crop your slides, and the apps' own counters are final. The suggested hashtags and the number of hashtags in each caption are our suggestion.
Frequently asked questions
How many slides can an Instagram carousel have?
Instagram Help says you can share up to 20 photos and videos as a single post. The orientation you pick (square, portrait or landscape) applies to every slide in the post, so design them all in one shape, such as 1080 x 1350 pixels for portrait or 1080 x 1080 for square. This tool keeps the cover, the points and the closing slide within 20.
How do I post the slides on LinkedIn?
Export them as one PDF and share it as a document. LinkedIn Help says documents can be PDF, PPT, PPTX, DOC or DOCX files of up to 100 MB and 300 pages, and asks for a clear, concise title when you upload one. Only one document goes in a post, and you can edit its title and description later but not the file. The tool also writes the LinkedIn post text to go with it.
Does this tool use AI or make the images?
Neither. It picks headings, list items and sentences from your article by word counts and puts them on slides with a few fixed lines, so the slides only say what your article says. It makes the text only: you put it on your slides in your own design app. Read every slide before you post.
Why does every slide need alt text?
Screen readers read alt text out to people who cannot see the image, and the words on a slide are part of the image. So the tool writes alt text that repeats each slide's words, which you can edit (our suggestion). On Instagram, add it under Advanced settings, then Write alt text; on LinkedIn, with Alt text below each image. Both say how in their help pages.
How many words should go on a slide?
Neither Instagram nor LinkedIn sets a number. Our suggestion is a headline of up to 10 words and up to 30 words of text, 40 in all, so each slide can be read at a glance. The tool counts the words on every slide and flags the ones that are longer. Split a long point into two slides rather than shrinking the text.
