How to use the Entity Coverage Checker

Read what the guide says

This is the Entity Coverage Checker.

It compares the brands, tools, places and concepts on your page with competitor pages.

Search engines and AI assistants understand pages through the entities they mention.

Use competitor pages that rank on Google's first page, or that AI answers cite.

Enter your page, and 1 to 3 competitor pages for the same topic.

These are sample pages of made-up clinics.

Then press Compare entities.

We find the names, products, acronyms and repeated concepts on each page.

The score is your coverage of the entities most competitor pages use.

Do these first lists what to fix first.

Here, your page covers 6 of the 13 entities most competitors use.

Every competitor mentions implant failure, gum disease and bone loss. You don't.

Open How to fix to see why it matters and the steps.

If an entity matters for your readers, add it with a short explanation.

The missing entities are ranked by importance, with where to add each one.

Here, night guard goes in your section How to look after your implant.

You also see what you mention only in passing, and what only your page has.

Add the missing entities, then check your page again.

We match the words, so use the name your readers use.

You can also email yourself a PDF of the result.

About the Entity Coverage Checker

Search engines and AI assistants understand pages through the entities they mention: brands, products, tools, places, standards and concepts. Enter your page and up to three competitor pages that rank or get cited for the same topic. We find the entities on each page, show the ones most competitors cover and you do not, the ones you mention only in passing, and the ones only you have. For each missing entity you see where to add it on your page.

How it works

  1. Step 1

Enter your page and 1 to 3 competitor pages for the same topic, one per line.

  2. Step 2

We read the main content of each page and find names, products, acronyms and repeated concepts.

  3. Step 3

You get your coverage score, the missing entities ranked by importance, and where to add each one.

How entities are found

From the text: capitalised names, acronyms such as SEO or GA4, product names such as ChatGPT or WordPress, and two- and three-word concepts a page repeats, such as "local citations". Each site's own brand name is left out. It is a text analysis, not a lookup in a knowledge graph.

Add meaning, not lists

Mention a missing entity where it helps the reader: explain what it is, how it relates to your topic and give an example. A list of names does not make a page more useful.

Frequently asked questions

Which competitor pages should I use?

Pages that rank on the first page of Google, or that AI answers cite, for the same question your page answers.

Why is something missing when I mention it?

We match the words. If you use a different name or spelling, the tool may not connect them. Use the name your readers use.

Should I add every missing entity?

No. Add the ones that matter for your readers; skip the ones that belong to a different angle or audience.
