Tool kit, 8 steps in order

Write and publish a blog post: free tools for each step

Eight free tools in the order we suggest for one article, from reading what searchers want to sharing the finished post. None of them write the article for you or use AI: they work on the keyword, search results, draft and site pages you give them, in your browser.

Who it is for: Business owners, marketers and writers who publish articles or guides on their own website.

The steps

The order is our suggestion. Skip a step you have already done, or come back to one later.

  1. Step 1: Content writing tools

    Search Intent Checker

Before you write, paste the top 10 results for your keyword to see what searchers want and which kind of page to make.

Then: Keep the page type and main intent it shows, and copy its short brief into the next step.

You need: Top 10 result titles

Open the tool: Search Intent Checker
  2. Step 2: Content writing tools

    Content Brief Builder

Turn the keyword, your reader and the top pages' headings into a brief with an outline, questions to answer and what only your business can add.

Then: Hand the brief to your writer, or write the draft from it yourself.

You need: A keyword and top pages

Open the tool: Content Brief Builder
  3. Step 4: Content writing tools

    Content Draft Optimizer

Check the draft's title, headings, keyword use, links, images and long sentences against our checklist before you publish.

Then: Work through the fixes it puts first, then tick Google's people-first questions yourself.

  4. Step 6: Content writing tools

    Internal Link Suggester

Find where the new post should link to your other pages, and which older pages should link to it.

Then: Add the links, reworded where they read badly, and add links from the older pages once the post is live.

    You need: Sitemap and article

Open the tool: Internal Link Suggester

Frequently asked questions

Do these tools write the post for me?

No. They read what you give them and check it against fixed rules, templates and our checklists. The Blog to Social Posts Repurposer picks sentences from your own article; it does not write new ones.

I already have a draft from ChatGPT. Where do I start?

Start at step 4 with the Content Draft Optimizer, and run the AI Draft Clean-up Checker as well: it finds chatbot lines, placeholders, figures with no source and filler. Then carry on from step 5.

Can I use the kit for a service or product page?

Yes, most steps fit any page you write. The Search Intent Checker shows whether the top results are guides, lists, service pages or local listings, which helps you decide what kind of page to make.
