How it works
-
In Ads Manager, add the columns you need (Delivery, Results, Amount spent, Impressions, Reach, Frequency, Link clicks and, at ad level, the three rankings), then open Reports and export the table as CSV.
-
Open the file or paste the table, check the columns the tool matched, and add a target cost per result if you have one.
-
Work down the pause, fix and scale lists, move the budget in small steps as suggested, then download the CSV or copy the summary for your team.
About the Meta Ads Results Analyzer
Find where your Facebook and Instagram ad money goes. Export a report from Meta Ads Manager at campaign, ad set or ad level, for any dates, and open or paste it here. The tool adds up spend and results, compares each row's cost per result with the median of your own rows, and finds spend with no results, frequency rising while link CTR falls, learning limited ad sets and ad relevance rankings below average. You get a pause, fix or scale list ranked by the rupees at stake, a suggestion for where to move the budget, and a CSV. It runs in your browser: the export is not uploaded and nothing connects to your ad account.
How it reads your results
Meta works out cost per result as amount spent ÷ results, CPM as the cost of 1,000 impressions, link CTR as link clicks ÷ impressions, and frequency as impressions ÷ reach. The tool uses the same sums on your rows, and compares cost per result only between rows with the same result type, so leads are not judged against link clicks. Rows split by day or week are added up per campaign, ad set or ad; reach cannot be added up, so their frequency is the average of the rows, weighted by impressions.
Pause, fix or scale: our rules
A row goes on the pause list when it has spent twice the median cost per result with no results, or costs twice the median per result or more. It goes on the fix list at 1.5 times the median, or when it shows signs of ad fatigue, Learning limited, a ranking below average or few landing page views from its clicks. It goes on the scale list when it costs at least 20% less than the median, from 5 results or more, with no warning signs. These thresholds are our measures; what the metrics, the learning phase and the rankings mean comes from Meta Business Help.
What this tool cannot do
It reads only the export you give it. It does not connect to your ad account, cannot see your audiences, creatives or attribution settings, and cannot tell why Meta delivered an ad the way it did. Meta may estimate or model some results and values, and its delivery system decides who sees each ad. A row with few results can look cheap or costly by chance, so the tool marks rows with too little data instead of judging them. Treat the budget move as a starting point and change budgets in small steps.
Frequently asked questions
Which report should I export from Ads Manager?
Any level works, but ad level gives the most, because the ad relevance rankings show only there. Pick a date range with enough spend, for example the last 30 days, and include at least the Results and Amount spent columns. Rows split by week let the tool see whether frequency is rising while link CTR falls.
What does "Learning limited" mean?
Meta shows Learning limited in the Delivery column when an ad set is unlikely to get about 50 optimisation events in the week after its last significant edit. Meta says it is not a penalty. Its suggested fixes are to combine ad sets, broaden the audience, raise the budget or the bid, or optimise for an event that happens more often.
Why compare with the median and not the average?
One very costly or very cheap row pulls an average a long way, while the median is the middle row and stays steady. If you know the cost per result you can afford, enter it as your target and the tool uses it for your main result type instead. The Meta Ads Budget Calculator works that figure out from your margin.
How should I read the quality, engagement and conversion rankings?
Meta compares your ad with ads competing for the same audience, says to read the three rankings together, and shows them only for ads with at least 500 impressions. They are not used in the auction. Our reading: below average on quality or engagement rate usually means working on the ad itself, and on conversion rate, on the offer and the page or form after the click.
Is my ad data safe?
Yes. The export is read in your browser and never uploaded, and the tool does not connect to Meta or to your ad account. Only your three optional targets are remembered on this device for next time.
