About the Marketplace Listing Checker (Amazon, Flipkart, Meesho)
Pick Amazon.in, Flipkart or Meesho and paste your product title, bullet points, description and, for Amazon, item highlights and search terms. The tool checks lengths, repeated words, ALL CAPS, special characters and promotional words against what each marketplace tells sellers, counts Amazon search terms in bytes, and shows which of your keywords each field covers. Open your product photos to check their pixel size and to estimate the white background and how much of the frame the product fills. You get a tidied copy of the listing and a CSV of the fields. It runs in your browser: nothing is uploaded.
Amazon.in's title and search term rules
From 27 July 2026, Amazon.in titles can be up to 75 characters, including spaces, in every category except media, with an extra 125 characters in Item highlights; longer titles are gradually replaced with Amazon's suggestion. Amazon's title rules allow a word at most twice and do not allow ! $ ? _ { } ^ ¬ ¦ unless they are part of the brand name. Search terms are counted in bytes: Amazon gave a limit of less than 200 bytes for India, and later notes say 249 or 250, so the tool warns from 200.
Images and our measures
Amazon.in asks for images at least 500 pixels on the longest side, 1,000 pixels or more on each side for zoom, and up to 10,000; JPEG is preferred. Amazon's guides ask for a pure white background on the main image and a product that fills at least 85% of the frame. Flipkart's seller guide asks for high-resolution images on a white background, and Meesho asks for JPEG images without logos or watermarks. The white background and fill figures are our measures, read from the pixels at the edges and the area that is not white.
What this tool cannot do
It cannot see your Seller Central, Seller Hub or Supplier Panel account, and category rules there can be stricter than the general rules used here. Flipkart and Meesho publish few limits on their public seller pages, so most of their checks are our checklist and say so. The list of promotional words is ours. The image checks cannot tell text or a logo on the photo from the product, and the clean copy only makes mechanical fixes: read it before you paste.
Frequently asked questions
How long can an Amazon.in product title be?
From 27 July 2026, Amazon.in titles in every category except media need to be 75 characters or less, including spaces. Item highlights add another 125 characters for details such as materials or uses; they are searchable and shown with the title. Amazon says titles still over 75 characters are gradually updated to its own suggestion, and brand owners get 14 days to review the change.
How many bytes can Amazon search terms have?
Amazon counts search terms in bytes, not characters: a-z and 0-9 are 1 byte each, letters like ä are 2 and a Hindi letter is 3. Amazon's launch note gave less than 200 bytes for India (250 in most other marketplaces), and later Amazon replies mention 249 or 250, so check the Keyword attributes help page in Seller Central. The tool warns from 200 bytes and fails from 250.
What should not go in Amazon search terms?
Amazon's guidance says to use generic words that help buyers find the product: no brand names (not even your own), no temporary statements such as "new" or "on sale now", and no subjective claims such as "best", "cheapest" or "amazing". Punctuation, joining words and words already in the title are not needed. The clean copy removes these for you.
What does Amazon want on the main image?
Amazon's guides ask for a pure white background (RGB 255, 255, 255), the product filling at least 85% of the image, and no text, logos, watermarks, borders or inset images that are not on the product. Amazon.in says images should be at least 1,000 pixels on each side so shoppers can zoom. The tool measures the size, the white edges and the fill; check text and logos yourself.
Are the Flipkart and Meesho checks official?
Partly. Flipkart's seller guide asks for descriptive titles (colour, size and style), high-resolution images on a white background and photos from several angles. Meesho asks for JPEG images without logos or watermarks, a clear front image and short descriptions. Neither publishes a title length or pixel size on its public pages, so those checks are our checklist or our suggestion, and each one says so.
