About the Product Photo Resizer
Open your product photos and choose where they will go: Amazon.in, Flipkart, Meesho, Google Merchant Center, Shopify or a size you type. The tool trims a plain white border round the product, fits the photo into the frame with white padding (or crops it to fill the frame), and saves each one as a JPEG, WebP or PNG with a file name made from your SKU. You see each photo before and after, with its pixel size and file size, and the checks from our Product Photo Checker on the new file. Download the photos one by one or all in one ZIP file. It runs in your browser: your photos are not uploaded.
The sizes we use
Amazon.in asks for at least 500 pixels on the longest side and up to 10,000, with 1,000 pixels or more on each side so shoppers can zoom; its main image needs a pure white background with the product filling at least 85% of the frame. Google Merchant Center needs at least 500 x 500 pixels for all products from 31 January 2027 and asks you not to enlarge small images. Shopify Help says square product images of 2,048 x 2,048 pixels usually look best, and files must be under 20 MB. Flipkart and Meesho publish no pixel size, so the 2,000 pixel square for them, and for Amazon.in and Google, is our suggestion.
How trimming and padding work
We look for the product on a scaled copy of the photo: everything that differs from the plain, light background round the edges. The tool crops to that box, scales it so its longer side fills the share of the frame you choose (85% by default), and centres it on the background colour. With "Do not enlarge small photos" ticked, a small photo gets a smaller frame instead of being blown up. These are our measures, and trimming works only on a plain white or transparent background.
What this tool cannot do
It does not remove backgrounds, retouch or change the product: a grey or busy background stays as it is. If the background is off-white, the edge of the photo can show as a faint box on pure white padding, and the tool tells you so. Saving through the browser's canvas makes a new file, so EXIF data such as the camera, date and location is not copied. It cannot see text, logos or watermarks, and it does not sign in to any seller account.
Frequently asked questions
What size should product photos be for Amazon.in?
Amazon.in asks for at least 500 pixels on the longest side and no more than 10,000, and 1,000 pixels or more on each side so shoppers can zoom. Its main image needs a pure white background with the product filling at least 85% of the frame. The tool's Amazon.in preset makes a 2,000 x 2,000 pixel JPEG with the product filling 85%; the square shape and the size are our suggestion.
Will resizing make a small photo blurry?
Enlarging a small photo cannot add detail, so it can look soft. By default the tool does not enlarge: it makes a smaller frame of the same shape and tells you if that is below a marketplace's size. Google Merchant Center also asks you not to enlarge small images. The best fix is a bigger original photo.
Can it make the background white?
Only the padding it adds. If your photo was shot on pure white, the result is all white. If the background is off-white, grey or busy, the tool leaves it as it is and says so, because it does not remove backgrounds. Reshoot on white, or make the background pure white in a photo editor first.
Why do the new photos have no EXIF or location data?
The tool draws each photo on a browser canvas and saves the canvas as a new file. The new file does not carry the original photo's EXIF data, such as the camera, the date or a GPS location, so the photos you upload do not show where they were taken.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. The photos are opened, resized and saved in your browser, on your device, and the ZIP file is made there too. Nothing is sent anywhere. The tool does not sign in to Seller Central, Seller Hub, the Meesho Supplier Panel or your shop.
