About the Offline Conversion Import Builder

Add a CRM or spreadsheet export of the leads that became sales, and get a file ready for a Google Ads offline conversion import: click IDs (GCLID, and GBRAID or WBRAID for iPhone clicks), the conversion action name, times with their time zone, values in rupees and order IDs. Every row is checked against Google's rules, from missing click IDs to sales more than 90 days after the click. Your file is read in your browser and never uploaded.

How it works

  1. Step 1

Drop in a CSV or TSV export from your CRM, paste rows from a sheet, or press "Try an example".

  2. Step 2

Type the conversion action name exactly as in Google Ads, pick the file layout and time zone, and check the matched columns.

  3. Step 3

Fix what the checks flag, then download the file and import it in Data Manager or under Goals › Uploads.

What Google needs in the file

Each row needs a click ID, the conversion action name with the same spelling and capitals as in Google Ads, and the conversion time with its time zone. Value, currency (an ISO code such as INR) and an order ID are optional. The tool writes every time as 2026-10-14 15:30:00 with its offset, so dates cannot be read the wrong way round, and the legacy template starts with Google's Parameters:TimeZone row.

The checks on every row

Rows are skipped when the click ID is missing or damaged, such as "undefined" saved by a broken form, when the time is unreadable, in the future, before the click or more than 90 days after it, and when a row repeats the same click, action and time or reuses an order ID. Values such as "3.5 lakh" become numbers, "Rs" becomes INR, and rows close to the 90-day limit are flagged so you upload them first.

What this tool cannot do

It does not upload anything or sign in to Google Ads, so it cannot tell whether a click ID is real, whether your conversion action exists or how many rows Google will match. The damaged click ID checks are our own, as Google does not publish a format for click IDs. Google now calls GCLID imports a legacy feature and recommends enhanced conversions for leads, which our Enhanced Conversions for Leads CSV Formatter prepares.

Frequently asked questions

What is an offline conversion import?

It tells Google Ads which ad clicks turned into sales that happened away from your website, such as a flat booking, an admission or a deal closed on the phone. Your form saves the GCLID from the ad click with each lead. When the lead becomes a sale, you upload the click ID, the conversion action name and the time, so Smart Bidding can aim for sales rather than enquiries.

How old can a conversion be when I upload it?

Google keeps the GCLID for 90 days, so conversions uploaded more than 90 days after the click are not imported. The sale must also fall within the conversion action's click-through window, which can be 1 to 90 days. If your sales take months, import an earlier step, such as a site visit or a quote, as its own conversion action, and upload at least weekly.

What are GBRAID and WBRAID?

They are click IDs Google uses for some clicks from iPhones and iPads since iOS 14: GBRAID for app conversions and WBRAID for web conversions. Data Manager accepts them where there is no GCLID. Google says the conversion action must count "Every" when you upload them, and they can take up to 72 hours to process. The legacy upload template has a Google Click ID column only.

Why does Google say the conversion happened before the click?

Usually the time zone or the date order is wrong. A sale on 4 October written as 04/10 can be read as 10 April, and an Indian time read as US time moves by many hours. This tool reads your dates in the time zone you choose, detects day-first dates and writes every time with its offset, such as +05:30. Google also suggests checking the time zone first.

Should I use this or enhanced conversions for leads?

Google now describes GCLID imports as a legacy feature and recommends enhanced conversions for leads, which match hashed email addresses or phone numbers and also work for leads without a saved click ID. If your CRM already stores GCLIDs, this file still works through Data Manager, and Google's upgrade guide lets you send click IDs and hashed details in the same row.
