This is the Keyword Planner Forecast to Budget Plan.

Turn a Keyword Planner forecast into a monthly plan: budget with GST,

leads and which keywords to keep.

Download the forecast from your plan's Forecasts page in Keyword Planner and drop it in,

paste it, type keyword, clicks and cost on each line, or press "Try an example".

Or press Try an example to fill in sample details.

Type your conversion rate, close rate, average sale value and monthly budget,

and say whether the budget includes 18% GST and how many days the forecast covers.

then copy the summary or download the plan as CSV and set the daily budget in Google Ads.

It does not sign in to Google Ads or Keyword Planner, so it only knows the numbers in your file.

About the Keyword Planner Forecast to Budget Plan

Add the forecast you downloaded from Google Keyword Planner, or type each keyword with its forecast clicks and cost, then your conversion rate, close rate, average sale value and the monthly budget you can afford. You get a monthly plan in rupees: Google's forecast clicks and cost, our maths for leads, customers and sales, the budget the forecast needs with 18% GST against the budget you have, which keywords to keep first and the daily budget to set. It runs in your browser.

How it works

  1. Step 1

Download the forecast from your plan's Forecasts page in Keyword Planner and drop it in, paste it, type keyword, clicks and cost on each line, or press "Try an example".

  2. Step 2

Type your conversion rate, close rate, average sale value and monthly budget, and say whether the budget includes 18% GST and how many days the forecast covers.

  3. Step 3

Read the plan, check the flagged keywords, then copy the summary or download the plan as CSV and set the daily budget in Google Ads.

Google's forecast and our maths

Clicks, impressions and cost come from your Keyword Planner forecast, scaled to a month of 30.4 days, Google's average. Leads are forecast clicks times your conversion rate, or Google's forecast conversions if your file has them; customers are leads times your close rate, and sales are customers times your sale value. The tool labels which numbers are Google's and which are our maths, so you know what rests on your own rates.

Which keywords to keep first

When your budget is smaller than the forecast, the tool keeps the keywords with the lowest cost per lead first until the money runs out, gives the next keyword what is left and leaves the rest for later. This order is our suggestion. The daily budget is your monthly spend before GST divided by 30.4, the way Google works out a monthly limit, and the 18% GST on your invoice is added on top.

What this tool cannot do

It does not sign in to Google Ads or Keyword Planner, so it only knows the numbers in your file. Google's forecasts are estimates from the last 7 to 10 days and change with your bids, your budget and the season; they are not a promise of clicks. Our maths is only as good as the conversion rate, close rate and sale value you type, so update them after your first month of real results.

Frequently asked questions

How do I download a forecast from Keyword Planner?

In Google Ads, open Keyword Planner, add your keywords to a plan, for example with "Get search volume and forecasts", and open the plan's Forecasts page. Set the date range at the top of the page, then use the download button, save the file as CSV if you are offered a choice, and drop it in this tool. If the download shows a date range above the table, the tool reads it.

How accurate are Keyword Planner forecasts?

They are estimates. Google refreshes them daily from the last 7 to 10 days, adjusts them for seasonality, and takes your bid, budget and past ad quality into account. They cover the Search Network only. When a plan holds very similar keywords, Google has to guess how traffic divides between them, which makes the forecast less accurate. Treat the numbers as a starting point.

How is the daily budget worked out?

The tool takes the monthly amount you plan to spend before GST and divides it by 30.4, the average number of days in a month that Google uses for its monthly spending limit. Google can spend up to twice the daily budget on a busy day, but not more than 30.4 times it in a month. The 18% GST is added on your invoice, on top of this.

Why does the tool keep some keywords first?

If you cannot afford every keyword in the forecast, spreading a small budget across all of them gives each one too few clicks to judge. The tool funds the keywords with the lowest cost per lead first, based on your rates or Google's forecast conversions, and leaves the rest for later. This is our suggestion; adjust it if some services earn you more than others.

What conversion rate should I use?

Use your own numbers if you have them: leads divided by clicks from your Google Ads account or your website analytics, and the share of leads that became customers from your sales register. If you are starting out, use a cautious guess and update it after the first month. The tool does not suggest an industry average, because yours depends on your offer, page and city.
