How it works
-
Choose what the reel is for, its length and your type of business, then type the topic and your key points, one per line. Or try the example.
-
Add your business name, a call to action and the language for the lines. If a brand paid you or sent a free product, say so to add the ad label.
-
Read the shot list and the checks, then copy the script, the lines to say or the caption, or download the shot list as a text or CSV file.
About the Reels Script Builder
Pick what the reel is for (a tip, a product, a before and after, behind the scenes, an offer or an answer to a question), a length of 15, 30, 60 or 90 seconds and your type of business, then type the topic and your key points. You get a shot list: the hook in the first seconds, each scene with what to film, the words on screen and the line to say, and the call to action, with a timing bar, a caption and cover text ideas. The lines can be in English, Hinglish or Hindi. It uses written templates, not AI, and runs in your browser.
How the time is split
The hook gets the first 2 or 3 seconds and the call to action the last 2 to 5, depending on the length. The rest goes to your points, at least 3 seconds each (5 in 60 and 90 second reels), and to the parts each goal needs, such as the before and the after, or the dates and conditions of an offer. Lines are measured at 2.3 spoken words a second, about 140 a minute. These are our suggestions and estimates, not platform rules, so read the script aloud with a timer.
The platform rules it uses
Instagram Help says reels over 3 minutes are not recommended to people who do not follow you, that a reel must be 90 seconds or less and full-screen 9:16 to be boosted, and that boosted reels can't use licensed music. It supports reels from 1.91:1 to 9:16, at 30 frames a second or more and at least 720 px. Meta's Music Guidelines prohibit using music for commercial purposes without licences. For a reel made with a brand, the ad label stays on screen for the whole reel, which covers ASCI's minimum for a video of its length.
What this tool cannot do
It gives a structure and lines to start from, not a finished script: it does not know your subject or write with AI, so put the words in your own voice. It cannot see or edit your video, check your music or post for you, and it does not predict views or reach. The timings and word counts are our estimates, so time the finished reel in the app before you post.
Frequently asked questions
How long should an Instagram reel be?
Instagram does not publish a best length. Its Help Center says reels over 3 minutes are not recommended to people who do not follow you, and that a reel must be 90 seconds or less to be boosted. This tool plans 15, 30, 60 or 90 seconds. Our suggestion: choose the shortest length that fits your points.
What should the first seconds of a reel show?
Our suggestion: the topic or the result, straight away, as big text and in the first line you say. The tool builds the hook from your topic for each goal, for example the result of a tip, the product in hand, or a flash of the after shot before the before.
Can I write the script in Hindi or Hinglish?
Yes. Choose Hindi for lines in Devanagari, or Hinglish for Hindi in English letters. The lines to say, the on-screen text, the caption and the cover ideas follow your choice, and your own points stay exactly as you typed them. The filming directions stay in English.
Which music can a business use in a reel?
Meta's Music Guidelines prohibit using music for commercial purposes without the right licences. Instagram Help says the licensed music library may not be available for your account type, and that boosted reels can't use licensed music. Your own voice, original audio or Meta's Sound Collection are the safe choices.
Do I need an ad label on a reel made for a brand?
Yes, if the brand paid you or gave you something, even a free product. ASCI lists labels such as Ad, Collaboration and Free gift, asks for them upfront, and for a video longer than 15 seconds and under 2 minutes wants the label on screen for at least a third of it. The tool keeps it on screen for the whole reel, adds a spoken line and puts it at the start of the caption. Also turn on Instagram's paid partnership label.
