How to use the Device and Network Analyzer

Read what the guide says

This is the Device and Network Analyzer.

See whether mobile phones, computers or Search partners bring your Google Ads results,

and what to change.

In Google Ads, open Campaigns, pick a date range and add Cost,

Conversions and Conv. value. Click Segment, choose Device and download the table;

do the same with Network (with search partners).

Or press Try an example to fill in sample details.

Drop one or both files here,

or paste them one under the other. Add your target CPA or target ROAS,

and your bid strategy if the report does not show it.

Read the device and network breakdown and the suggestions for each campaign,

then copy the summary or download the CSV.

It runs in your browser, so nothing you type is uploaded.

Try it free on this page.

Campaigns report by device or network

To add a second report, paste it under the first with its own header row.

Runs in your browser. Your report is not uploaded.

Your goal and bidding

Cost per conversion you aim for, for leads.

For sales with values. Fill in one target; without one, the report average is used.

Our measure: 20 by default.

Read from the Bid strategy type column when the report has one. Device bid adjustments work differently with each strategy.

Pick one when your file has a Campaign column with more than one campaign.

Getting the report

  1. 1 In Google Ads, open Campaigns and pick a date range, such as the last 30 or 90 days. Add the Cost, Conversions and, for sales, Conv. value columns.
  2. 2 Click Segment, choose Device and download the table. Do the same with Network (with search partners), or build one table with both in the Report editor.
  3. 3 Drop the file or files here, or paste them one under the other.

Menu and column names can differ between accounts and downloads; the tool accepts the common ones.

Your devices and networks appear here

Upload or paste a campaigns report segmented by Device or Network (with search partners), or try the example: an office supplies seller.

About the Device and Network Analyzer

Upload or paste a Google Ads campaigns report segmented by Device, by Network (with search partners), or both, and add your target CPA or ROAS and your bid strategy. The tool shows each device's and network's share of cost, clicks and conversions, its CTR, average CPC, conversion rate, cost per conversion and ROAS, the gap between mobile phones and computers, and how Search partners compare with Google search, for all campaigns and for each one. Suggestions follow Google's rules for device bid adjustments and the Search partners setting, and are labelled as ours. It runs in your browser and nothing is uploaded.

How it works

  1. Step 1

In Google Ads, open Campaigns, pick a date range and add Cost, Conversions and Conv. value. Click Segment, choose Device and download the table; do the same with Network (with search partners).

  2. Step 2

Drop one or both files here, or paste them one under the other. Add your target CPA or target ROAS, and your bid strategy if the report does not show it.

  3. Step 3

Read the device and network breakdown and the suggestions for each campaign, then copy the summary or download the CSV.

Devices and networks in Google Ads

Google Ads splits results by device: computers, mobile phones, tablets and TV screens (TV screens only in Display and Video campaigns). The segment Network (with search partners) splits Search campaign results into Google search and Search partners, and shows the Display Network when Display Expansion is on. The tool compares each one with your target, or with the report average when you have none, and by default judges only those with 20 clicks or more (our measure).

What you can change

Device bid adjustments range from −90% to +900%, and −100% stops ads on a device. With Manual CPC they apply on top of your bids, and Google says Maximize clicks does not look at device differences, so a mobile adjustment may help. With Target CPA an adjustment changes that device's target; Target ROAS, Maximize conversions and Maximize conversion value use only −100%. Search partners are on by default and can be turned off in the campaign's network settings, and from 15 October 2026 Google is rolling out High and Low channel priorities for them.

What this tool cannot do

It reads only the file you give it, so it cannot see your current bid adjustments, ads or landing pages, or which partner sites showed your ads (Google Ads does not list them for Search campaigns). It cannot tell whether a click on a phone led to a sale made later on a computer. The "near target" band, the 30% device gap, the Search partners test and the 10% and 20% bid steps are our measures. It never signs in to Google Ads.

Frequently asked questions

How do I see Google Ads results by device?

Open Campaigns, click Segment in the table toolbar and choose Device, or go to Insights and reports › When and where ads showed › Devices. Computers, mobile phones and tablets (and TV screens for Display and Video campaigns) show as separate rows. Add the Cost and Conversions columns and download the table to use it here.

Should I lower my mobile bids if computers convert better?

Not straight away. First check the landing page on a phone: Google's landing page advice includes making the page mobile friendly and quick to load. Make it easy to call, for example with a call asset. Then, with Manual CPC or Maximize clicks, change device bids a little at a time; the 10% and 20% steps in this tool are our suggestion. With Smart Bidding, bids already take the device into account.

Do device bid adjustments work with Smart Bidding?

Only in part. Google says Target ROAS, Maximize conversions and Maximize conversion value use only a device adjustment of −100%, which stops ads on that device. With Target CPA, a device adjustment changes the target for that device: +40% for mobile on a ₹1,000 target makes the mobile target ₹1,400. With Manual CPC, device adjustments from −90% to +900% apply on top of your bids.

Should I turn off Search partners?

Look at their results first. If Search partners cost much more per conversion than Google search, untick "Include Google search partners" in the campaign's network settings. From 15 October 2026 Google is rolling out channel priorities, which let a Search campaign put Search partners on Low priority with an optional daily budget allocation instead of switching them off. Google Ads does not show which partner sites ran your Search ads.

What are Search partners in Google Ads?

Search partners are sites in the Google Search Network, beyond Google search itself, that show your ads, such as partner search results pages and site directories. They are included by default in Search campaigns, and their results appear as "Search partners" when you segment by Network (with search partners). The clickthrough rate on partner sites does not affect your Quality Score on Google, and impression share does not include them.
