This is the Local Citation Tracker.

links and a to-do list.

Pick your business type and type your main name, address and phone,

as on your Google Business Profile. Or try the example.

Or press Try an example to fill in sample details.

Work down the list. Start with Google, Bing and Apple (our suggestion),

then mark each place as submitted, live or needing a fix, with its link and date.

About the Local Citation Tracker

Pick your business type and get a list of places a local business in India is often listed: Google Business Profile, Bing Places, Apple Business, your own website, Justdial, Sulekha, IndiaMART, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Practo, Zomato, Swiggy or Urban Company where they fit. For each one, mark its status (not started, submitted, live or needs fix), save the link and note whether the name, address and phone match your main details. You see your progress (our measure) and a do-these-first list, and you can download the tracker as CSV and open it again later. It is saved in your browser only and never visits the listing sites.

How it works

  1. Step 1

Pick your business type and type your main name, address and phone, as on your Google Business Profile. Or try the example.

  2. Step 2

Work down the list. Start with Google, Bing and Apple (our suggestion), then mark each place as submitted, live or needing a fix, with its link and date.

  3. Step 3

Once a listing is live, check its name, address and phone against your main details, and follow "Do these first". Download the CSV to share it with your team.

Why keep a list of your listings

Your business details can appear in many places: Google, Bing and Apple maps, Indian directories such as Justdial and Sulekha, apps such as Practo or Zomato, and your own social profiles. Google says it gathers business information from several sources, including business websites, licensed data and people who suggest edits, and that it may publish a suggested edit if you do not reply within 4 days. A list shows you what exists, what is waiting and what is wrong. Google does not publish a rule that every listing must match your Business Profile, so keeping them the same is our checklist.

How the tracker works

The places for each business type, the order and the "Do first" tags are our suggestion. Bing Places can import your listings from Google Business Profile, and Bing says imported listings typically take 7 to 12 days to publish. Apple Business replaced Apple Business Connect in April 2026, and Apple says its features vary by country and region. The progress figure is our measure: the share of places that are live with the name, address and phone all matching. A submitted listing is flagged for a check after 14 days, also our suggestion.

What this tool cannot do

It does not visit Google, Justdial or any other site, sign in for you or submit listings: it only knows what you mark. It cannot tell whether a listing exists or what it shows, so open each one to check. The descriptions of each site come from their own pages and may change. We make no claim that any directory helps your ranking: Google says local results are mainly based on relevance, distance and prominence.

Frequently asked questions

What is a local citation?

A local citation is any place online that shows your business name, address and phone number together, such as your Google Business Profile, Bing Places, a Justdial or Practo listing, or your Facebook Page. This tracker keeps all of yours in one list, with their status and links.

Where should I list my business first?

Our suggestion is Google Business Profile, Bing Places and Apple Business first, then your website, then the directories and apps that fit your business, such as Practo for doctors, Zomato and Swiggy for restaurants, or IndiaMART for suppliers. Google Business Profile is for businesses that meet customers in person during their stated hours.

Can I copy my Google listing to Bing?

Yes. Bing Places can import your listings from Google Business Profile. Bing says imported listings typically take 7 to 12 days to publish, categories may not carry over, and a listing linked to Google is edited in Google and then synced again. Check the Bing listing once it is live.

What should I do if a listing shows the wrong details?

Mark it as needing a fix and note what is wrong. Sign in to the site, or claim the listing if someone else created it, and copy your main details exactly. Then use the NAP Consistency Checker to compare the exact wording of several listings at once.

Where is my tracker saved?

Only in this browser, on this device. Nothing is uploaded. Download the CSV to keep a copy, share it with your team, or open it on another device with "Open a CSV". Do not keep passwords in the notes.
