About the Pinterest Board Planner

Choose your type of business, add your city and type your products or topics, one per line with related keywords after commas. You get 6 to 12 boards: one for each product or topic, ideas boards for your kind of business and seasonal boards for the festivals that matter to you, each with a name, a description, sections, keywords and the Pins to add. A timeline shows the Indian festivals in the next 12 months and when to start pinning for each. Edit any name or description, then copy, download or print the plan. It uses fixed templates, not AI, runs in your browser and never signs in to Pinterest.

What Pinterest says about boards

Pinterest Business suggests giving each board a clear, descriptive title and a description, because people can find boards in search. Pinterest Help says board sections organise the Pins inside a board, and that only you and the people you invite can see a private board. Pinterest's API allows a section name of up to 180 characters; Pinterest publishes no length limit for board names or descriptions, so the tool shows their counts for your information.

How the plan is made

Each product or topic line becomes a board, with its related keywords as sections. Ideas boards come from fixed templates for your type of business, such as recipes and gift boxes for a sweet shop. Seasonal boards and the timeline use our festival list, from the Government of India holiday lists and Drik Panchang, rated for your business and region. Starting to pin 8 weeks before a date is our suggestion, based on Pinterest Business's advice to have campaigns ready a couple of months ahead because people plan early.

What this tool cannot do

It does not sign in to Pinterest, create boards or check which keywords people search for. Pinterest Trends, where it is available for your region, shows how searches rise and fall. Festival dates that follow the moon or the Hindu calendar change every year, and our list has verified dates up to the end of 2027. The board ideas are starting points: rename them in your own words, and keep only the boards you can fill with Pins.

Frequently asked questions

How many boards should a business have on Pinterest?

Pinterest does not set a number. Our suggestion is 6 to 12 boards to start, each one clear enough that someone knows what they will find, and each with enough Pins to be worth following. The planner makes one board for each product or topic you type, then fills the rest with ideas and seasonal boards.

What should I name my Pinterest boards?

Pinterest Business suggests clear, descriptive titles, because people can find boards in search. Use the words your customers would search for, such as "Kaju katli" or "Gift boxes and hampers", rather than clever names. The planner uses your main keyword as the name of each product board, and you can edit every name.

What are board sections on Pinterest?

Pinterest Help says sections organise the Pins within a board. You add one from the board with the plus button, name it, and move Pins into it. The planner turns the related words on each line into sections, and the Festivals and occasions board gets a section for each festival.

When should I start pinning for Diwali?

Pinterest Business says people on Pinterest start planning early and advises having campaigns ready a couple of months ahead of calendar moments. Our suggestion is to start adding Pins about 8 weeks before a festival, and the timeline gives that date for each one. You can keep the board private while you fill it, then make it public.

Is there a character limit for board names?

Pinterest does not publish one that we could verify, so the planner shows each name's length for your information and suggests keeping names to about 50 characters, which is our suggestion. Section names can be up to 180 characters in Pinterest's API.
